Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
